Anatomivia

Credits and licences

Anatomivia stands on open work. This page names it.

The 3D models

The body comes from Z-Anatomy, the open source atlas of anatomy, shared under CC BY-SA 4.0. Z-Anatomy is built on BodyParts3D, © The Database Center for Life Science, shared under CC BY-SA 2.1 JP.

The cranial nerves come from Cranial Nerves and Foramina by the University of Dundee, CAHID, shared under CC BY 4.0.

The model files were exported for the web by the nqwrc/3d-anatomy project.

For Anatomivia the meshes were simplified for phones, packaged one structure at a time and given new materials. These adapted models are shared under the same licence, CC BY-SA 4.0. The kidneys, the inner ear and the brain are not part of this model.

The words

Hints and facts are written for Anatomivia and checked against English Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0) and OpenStax Anatomy and Physiology 2e (CC BY 4.0), which you can access for free at openstax.org. Every answer links to its Wikipedia article.

Latin names follow Terminologia Anatomica, second edition (FIPAT, 2019). Other accepted names come from Wikidata (CC0).

Software and type

The 3D view is drawn with three.js (MIT licence). The typefaces are Cormorant Garamond and Inter, both under the SIL Open Font License.

A note

Anatomivia is for learning anatomy. It is not medical advice.
